At DHG, we bring nine decades of engineering experience to every client we serve. DHG is a leading provider of multi-discipline engineering services throughout the south because we believe that the quality of our work is directly related to our quality of life.
History of the company
Founded in 1927 in Pensacola, our firm has helped shape infrastructure across the Gulf Coast for nearly a century. Our founder, Russell G. Patterson, served as Project Engineer for the financing, design, and construction of the first Pensacola Bay Bridge. That effort set the tone for decades of meaningful work throughout the region. For generations, the firm operated as Baskerville-Donovan and became a trusted partner to communities across Florida and the Southeast. During that time, we built a strong foundation in municipal engineering while expanding our capabilities to support state and federal programs. As we approach our 100th year, we are entering a new chapter as Donovan-Hill Group, a name that reflects both our legacy and where we are headed. While the name is changing, our commitment to quality work, strong relationships, and dependable service remains the same.

DHG Today
At Donovan Hill Group, we partner with cities, counties, federal agencies, and international programs to plan, design, and deliver infrastructure that supports strong and resilient communities. Our work spans local municipal efforts and complex federal and global projects, giving our clients a team that understands how to navigate each environment and keep projects moving. Whether it is relocating wastewater treatment facilities, improving stormwater and drainage systems, or supporting large scale federal and international initiatives, our focus is consistent. We solve real problems with practical solutions that hold up over time. We see ourselves as community builders. Our work goes beyond infrastructure. It is about improving the places where people live, work, and invest. Our goal is simple. Deliver projects that make a lasting difference.
